What are local service ads?
Local services ads are the advertisements that are prompted at the top of results during a Google search.
These particular ads similarly to Google paid ads are actually meticulously vetted (by a third party on Google’s behalf) to qualify leads for your business. As Google puts it:
“With Local Services Ads, you can advertise your business on Google and receive leads directly from potential customers. These leads come in as phone calls and messages sent through your Local Services ad. You can reply to messages, track bookings, and manage all your leads anytime online and through the app (Android, iOS). Messaging is currently only available in the U.S. and Canada.”

Pretty compelling stuff! Basically, instead of paying for clicks (normally how Google Ads charges your account) with Local Service Ads, you are charged per lead.
A bit more a la carte, since you can dispute any leads that are not qualified. Another really great selling point to most business owners, since these are customers looking exactly for your business’s services!
How do local services ads work?
Local Services ads are shown at the top of Google Search results as mentioned, they are marked by a Google Guarantee or Google Screened badge.
This builds trust with potential customers and signals that the business has been vetted by Google.
From that point—potential customers can click or tap (on mobile) to engage with your business via messaging you directly or actually scheduling a booking. You will then receive an email notification from the LSAs app and the follow-up process is handed off to you.
